At the end of the harbor stands Cuba's best known lighthouse now called Castillo del Morro (not the correct name, Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro - The Castle of the Three Kings on the Bluff.) In 1845 the Spanish built this 85 foot tower. 400 hundred years earlier, the fortress surrounding it was built to guard the entrance of Havana Harbor.
